Information regarding our response to the COVID-19
The Chappaqua Orchestra (TCO) has been monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation closely. As we all know, many schools are closing, including those in NYC and Westchester County, and many universities around the country. We do not feel it is a good idea to ask you all to travel in this difficult time. With this in mind, and with the advice given by the CDC regarding travel and group gatherings, we have decided that it is best to postpone the 2020 Concerto Competition until this coming fall.
TCO will be working with the Music Conservatory of Westchester to find the best date for the Second and Final Rounds. Nothing will change as far as who will be competing. We are hoping everyone selected will still be able to participate next fall. After we have settled on a date, if for whatever reason you feel you will not be able to participate in the competition, please let me know as soon as possible.
We will also be working with the concert venue on the new date for the Winners’ Concert. We should know all the new dates within the next month, and we will immediately inform you as soon as the decisions are finalized.
We know that this situation is unique and not within TCO’s control. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during these difficult times. If there are any questions you have regarding anything related to the competition, please feel free to contact me. Please stay safe in these uncertain times; we look forward to celebrating the many musical accomplishments of our youth in the near future when it is more prudent for us all to join together.
