The orchestra’s performance in Japan was supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Representative Office,
which annually takes talented young musicians to perform across Asia to promote cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and other countries.
Japan is one of the destinations of the annual tour,
and the Asia Youth Orchestra has won awards in Japan for its contribution to fostering artistic talent.
Charlotte Symphony Orchestra signs new contract
Musicians at the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra are getting a new contract,
with a 13.5% increase in weekly pay and an increase in the annual work week from 38 to 39 weeks.
The new contract will allow the orchestra to present more performances and musicians to work more fulfilling jobs.
The new contract also allows musicians to teach in the community after their individual performances.
The Musicians’ Negotiating Committee creates amicable negotiations
Management and musicians have been in amicable discussions for months to reach a deal that everyone is
happy with and will help the orchestra provide more services to its audiences.
The CEO of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra thanked the Musicians Negotiating Committee for conducting
amicable negotiations with the goal of reaching a new agreement before the contract expired.
