Australian Youth Orchestra to host summer music festival

The Australian Youth Orchestra Summer Music Festival, taking place from 11 to 18 January 2025, is an orchestral music festival featuring 250 promising musicians aged between 12 and 26.
It will be held in Adelaide and will feature seven world-class concerts over the course of the festival.

Concert line-up information

The conductor line-up includes Alexander Bridger AO of the Australian World Orchestra, Natalia Luis Vasa of the Royal College of Music, and Andrew Haveron of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
The general director will be Monica Kuroda, the second conductor of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Festival details

The festival has set aside space for an artistic playground from 16 to 18 January.
The festival hub, set up on the lawn, will host a range of activities including making instruments and getting advice from musicians.
All ages are welcome to participate, and there will be snacks, short performances, and more.

The concert highlights are the different themed performances scheduled throughout the week.
From the inspiring ‘Victory in Amber’ to the energising ‘Cinnamon Rose’, the classic ‘Green Fields’ to the fresh ‘Throw a Prism’, there’s something for everyone.
Finally, ‘Clashing Colours’, ‘Fire of Indigo’ and ‘Colourburst’ bring the festival to a close.

Ticket prices are $10 for general admission, $40 for festival admission, and $30 for students and concessions
